Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

Hi. Yes, I LOVE to apply for Graphic 45 Design Team 2012. Especially, when I always loved & dreamed about Graphic 45 papers!. I'm SO glad that my friend Sharon (love you girl!) had reminded me about it this morning. So here I am, creating a blog post today just for that noble cause; sharing & showcasing my past 10 projects! I always loved making mini albums & off-the-page projects. Especially, altered projects. So I'm going to share here mainly of my favourite mini album projects and a scrapbook layout.

Nothing But The Blue Sky

Hi there. I'm creating this layout inspired by Lets Capture These Sketches' latest sketch, Sketch #120.

... Sketch #120.

I've been meaning to crop about THE amazing sunny afternoon which I spent playing tourist earlier this year. We have been experiencing many afternoons & evenings with very bad thunderstorms. They often created traffic jams, freak mini tornadoes (yup, with uprooted trees and stuff) and bad, bad flash floods in the city. 

And after a few days or so, we would have very sunny afternoons. This is the layout to capture one of those beautiful days when the sky were blue with very little patches of clouds. I took my camera and went sightseeing downtown, right smack where the tourists hang out. I had fun.

The title 'Nothing But The Blue Sky' came from a song, maybe? or so I thought. The teal colored flower previously adorned a headband.


I liked how this quick & simple layout turn out.

Valentine's Mismatched Mini Album

I like to share a custom order made for a friend who just celebrated their 3rd year anniversary & Valentine's Day.

It was another mismatched mini album, and this time 

I added lots of romance & love 'mood' in the craftmanship. I chose a very soft blue color theme, used many pattern papers with romantic letter prints and hearts. Frills & burlap flowers for embellishment. I also created a pocket with a blank love letter, so that my friend could write something for his Juliet. A sweet surprise!. I can't help it but created a mini tag book inside this mini album. Love is in the air.

If you have noticed, I'd used the original design from 'Domestic Goddess' mini album that I created for my late mother. Posted about it earlier this month. For this mini album, I simply tweaked the size of the papers and used cool color embellishments. Just dressed the album a little bit more girlish.

LESSology Challenge #11 Guest Designer

Hi all. I'm so excited to share with you my latest artwork that I created for LESSology latest challenge; Flights of Fantasy, Challenge #11. I was invited to be their guest designer for this challenge. Thank you Angi & Yvonne for the cool assignment!.

ATC mini album

Hi all. As promised in the last post, I'm going to share the mini album that I created for my latest ATCs. It has pages with plastic sleeves, so that I can easily display the ATCs just like any other photo album.

Here's what it looks like;

I used 4" X 6" plastic sleeves to protect the ATCs (act as album pages too). Minimum embellishments such as ribbons, metal clock face and alphabet stickers.

I will be teaching classes for making this mini album @ Scrappingville in March. Just hop over to their website, and there will be an update on March classes schedule very soon. (FYI, the ATC mini album classes are separate from Making ATC classes).

ATC Flutter Series

I have just created some ATCs and have displayed them at Scrappingville recently. 

I have always LOVED winged creatures, hence the name FLUTTERS. I was inspired by Scrappingville's many beautiful stamps in store. And these ATCs are the results ... If you're interested to know or learn how to make ATCs, there are ATC classes held every Saturdays & Sundays @ Scrappingville. Do check out their February class schedule here.

I also quickly made a mini album to store these ATCs, which I'll post soon. Now, I can make many more ATCs to fill this album up. What an incentive to create!. If you don't feel like embarking on a lengthy art escapades or hate to work on long-hour projects or even a layout, try ....ATCs. One ATC a day, maybe. 

For me, ATCs are like cupcakes. 
You can't never have enough of them. So, happy creating.

Movie Poster Valentine's Day Layout

I love this unique challenge site called From Screen 2 Scrap!. I always loved scrapping about movies...so I like to try make a layout based on their February challenge; Movie Poster "Valentine's Day".

Here is the inspiration:

To get extra 6 bonus points, you must use two hearts on the page (1 pt), black background (2 pts) and at least 10 tiny photos (3 pts).

...and this is my interpretation:

I actually used black gesso to cover my pink cardstock. This is going to be my background. I left a few pink spots here and there.

I wrote the journaling at the bottom as if it is the movie credits, like in the poster. I wanted my layout to be looking similar to the movie poster. So I used many tiny photos in film strips, glued on bright pink corrugated papers as background. 

My movie characters are basically my three cats, and I doodled each of their names on the spots where I left the background bare. Tried to mimic the actors' names on the poster :). I used minimal embellishments, just a crochet flower and a few buttons. I made a heart from a twine!. Lastly, I added a stamped heart and 
wrote 2.14.12 in the center, to imitate the heart @ the bottom of the movie poster.
