hurry hurry ...

Dear friends,
Creating these pages are NOT for the fainted heart!. LOL. I'm talking about the 30-minutes-adrenaline-packed-challenge at Art Journal Cafe. I'm a slow crafter, so naturally I feel intimidated to even try it :). I must tell you, I have never worked so fast like today. I was in a mess. Artistic mess. But it was fun.

Here is what I made in 28 minutes;

I spared the usual heavy gesso or paint, rather opted for crumpled tissue paper background. Minimal stamping with gesso for the white clock-face and brown Stazon for the stop watch.

Then as quickly as I could, wrote random notes on 'being so fast'. (I actually didn't bother to wait for the tissue papers to dry, just to save some time).

Added various colors of foam stickers for additional dimension. And lastly, distressed the edges with brown Stazon. Inked with brown Stazon to pop up the wrinkles for aged look.

My heart beats like crazy all the way. I think I need some coffee now :). But I had fun playing. NO thinking, just doing. Try it for a change :).
Hugs.

  1. What fun this is, LOVE the results of you racing thru a page! The color of tissue is gorgeous and the clocks are perfect for this, love the numbers too!! What a great idea to make your page about the prompt, good job getting it done under 30. I too am very slow when doing any art, that's why I get happy when a page comes together fast and that I will love it.
    Have a good day, HUGS!!

    1. Thanks so much, Dawn. I was on a speedy mood doing these pages. Eliminating some drying time & textural details helps too. All in all it was such FUN. Hugs.

    Love this texture from the tissue paper and how you filled the page with a combo of stamping and handwriting. Your 30! 30! 30! makes me smile big time!

  3. Tell me about it, I am a super slow crafter, I can take hours just to make one layout, let alone a mixed media journal page.
    And wonderful work you have there!

    1. Thanks, Kirsty. Am taking a small step here, most importantly I'm learning to work as fast as I can AND to enjoy the process along the way :).
