Sweet friends,
I'm playing along @ Art Journal Cafe's latest challenge; Music Music. I LOVE John Denver's song as much as I love Colorado :). I remembered watching his special concert on Rocky Mountain PBS that was recorded before his tragic flying accident. He sang songs on rock cliffs and river bed, in khakis, barefoot with a guitar. The eagle roamed the sky, beautiful country.
Here's "Take Me Home, Country Road".
Colorful tissue papers making up the background. I smudged various shades of blue soft pastel as the sky and sea. Doors and walls from tissue papers too.
I wrote parts of the lyrics on both pages with black sharpie.
My journal is getting too thick now I could barely close, LOL. Anyway, soon I'll start a new one :). Enjoy your weekend!.
Hugs.
Oh how I love that song!!! Your journaling pages are so pretty. What a wonderful tribute. Love the little houses so much. :)
ReplyDeleteTotally inspiring piece!
The most fun part about drawing the houses was, making the white dots of fairy lights on the roofs!!:). Yes, the song is magical too. Thanks so much, Lisa!.
Deletelove this ! The colors are so rich and gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteHUGS to you, Jane!.
DeleteLove that your journal is getting so thick....what a wonderful testament to your art!! I love all the blues on these pages and you picked a marvelous song. I love your use of tissue paper...I have only done that once but I loved the result..need to use it again. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Danielle!. Tissue papers are so fun, they add colors and texture to anything. I sometimes use them on my altered projects too!.
DeleteLove the way the purple and red accents the lovely blue tones. Beautiful page representing your song!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Linda!. Reds here represent love, blue for sky & sea, and browns for earth. I believe these were the essence of the song :).
