Happy Thanksgiving and Farewell ...

Dear friends,

Happy Thanksgiving!. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here where I live. But, the thought of the day brought sweet memories of the joy, sharing great food & company with friends. Once, our professor from college invited us, the Malaysian girls over to a Thanksgiving dinner at his home in Denver. Glorious food!. Very lovely close-knit family. That was when I fell in love with my very first pecan pie!. 

This week at Our Beautiful World our word prompt is;

'THANKSGIVING'

Thanksgiving always make me think about comfort food. Comforting, apple-cinnamon candles!. Pretty, yellow mums. Spiced spaghetti squash. French vanilla nut coffee. Nowadays, bread and butter pudding does the same trick. Blissful.

This week, I'm saying farewell to Our Beautiful World. What a wonderful journey and a great team of friends!. I cherished every moment of it. There is so much to learn about the world we live in. the power of words

Hello sweet friends, 

This plant nearly died months ago, when I was out of town. I came home and saw most of it had turned brown, only a couple of tiny greens left. I stuck a marker "Hope", hoping I would save them. And I did [2 weeks later :)].

I knew my cactus probably won't flower, but I made a garden marker that says "Bloom" sometime ago. Thought it might work wonders here, ushering the plant to bloom. It did. Only to become a girl cactus!. I thought, this is too funny :).

Yup, definitely a girl!.

I'm away from home for a while. Missing my tiny garden already. The weather has been gloom & doom lately. Good for the plants, I would think. And listening to the cup song in Gaelic might cheer things up a bit :).

something Ethereal ...

 

I was walking one morning, and my eyes caught a glimpse of a silver-white 'carpet' by the roadside. What could it be?. A humble patch of grass like this makes me smile!.

If one walks a little slower, or take a look a little closer, one would see the most beautiful things in nature. I LOVE doing this. It's connecting. It's grounding. It's calming. And, it's free!.

[Or maybe just the-scientist in me, always inspecting. Everything I see is a cool specimen :)].

Hello, November!. 

Muslims all over the world are celebrating Maal Hijrah on November 5th this year. 

It's the beginning of the Islamic year. 

A time for self evaluation?. 

I hope I've done some good. 

Living daily with love, positive intentions. 

For some, New Year is still more than a month away.

I always wonder how people welcoming it.

Loud booms of fireworks in the sky?

Fiesta and endless food?

Gather with friends and family?

Or, a quiet talk with yourself.

Feeling gratitude.
