'Curious Party' Explosion Box for Scrappingville

Hi there,
Looks like Halloween came early @ my home this year. I had a marvelous time making this large explosion box for Alice's Curious Party!. Fun enough to have Mad Hatter, The Red Queen, Cheshire Cat and fat boys Tweedledum and Tweedledee to join me. Oh, happy day :).

Dreamy. I wasn't sure how this project would progress since this was sort of an experiment. I have never made explosion box this big (5"X 5") before. And THIS MUCH FUN!. I was inspired by this tutorial that I saw online.

I went crazy and made me a paper tea cup and brewed some mad tea!. Of course, 'Alice In Wonderland' movie played on my DVD the whole time :). All the classic images are cutout from an old children storybook. Then wrote favorite quotes from the movie.

The box is made out of chipboard and pattern papers while the lid is from heavily stamped card stock. It is easier to stamp images on a card stock first before making the lid :).

Some of the curious things I made for the party;
A whole teapot of mad tea and a gauzy eat-me cupcake.

Drink-me magic potion [it looked more like Luke Skywalker's blue milk, LOL. Made out of blue glitter powder]. That orange paper ribbon is the 'Oraculum'. The compendium of the Underland :).

I stuffed the tea cup with red roses bouquet and shredded pages from an old book. Then embellished around the saucer with Alice-blue ruffles. I added a few pop-up playing cards to fill up the box. Among my guests were;

Tweedledee, Tweedledum and Cheshire Cat.

Mad Hatter and the Red Queen. Funny that the Queen came with 'Off With Their Heads' pashmina! . LOL. Silly me. I wrote those with correction pen on a black ribbon.

And the 'right' Alice.

That's it. Needed some work for the details but surely joyful to feel like a kid again :). I'm teaching how to make this explosion box @ Scrappingville this October. Do check our class schedule online soon :).

I'm linking up the tea party box to Twinkle like a bat, Shine like tea tray challenge @ The Altered Alice. I hope I could play along even when I don't have anything that twinkles and the only thing that shines is the blue glitter dust magic potion :).

Have a curious party too this Halloween!.
Hugs.
